Won't Agentinians find Maradona's anti-Bush t-shirt also subtly pro-Bush?

Hot

(Wooden Cliches, France) ...At the local market, Muhammad, 24, who declined to give his last name, said such checks sometimes happen outside his own apartment. He recounted how the night before, the police stopped him as he was walking home.

"They grabbed me and touched my hood to see if it was hot or sweaty," he said, describing what he called a regular practice. "If you're caught with a sweaty hood, it means you've been running and that you have probably committed a crime."

The Comedians Down Here Don't Say Nothing At All, They Just Stand Back and Let It All Be

Take a memo:

To: All CNN Staff

From: Jon Klein

We have made some programming decisions which will impact our prime time schedule as well as our colleague Aaron Brown. Aaron will be leaving CNN and is very much looking forward to some well-deserved time off with his family.

Aaron has made enormous contributions to CNN since his groundbreaking anchoring of Sept. 11th through the war in Iraq to the Tsunami to the recent hurricanes. Outside of the big stories, on a nightly basis, Aaron has provided our audiences with insight into the events of the United States and the world with eloquence and the highest journalist integrity.

Besides his stellar work as an anchor, Aaron stands as an absolutely brilliant writer, evident by the thoughtful perspective he injects into every story he touches.

Personally, I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor. We cannot thank Aaron enough for the skills and professionalism he brought to CNN. Given his respect throughout the industry, there is no question that he will be missed.

Cooper Is a Virus

(AP)...Klein said the switch was done to build CNN's schedule around what he considers its hottest personality, Cooper, and hottest new show, "The Situation Room."

..."He's got a refreshing way of being the anti-anchor," he said. "He's not quote-unquote reporting at you. He's just being himself. He's asking the questions you would like answered. He's getting involved the way you might. You feel that he's a regular person that you can trust talking to you. He brings such a passion to the storytelling that's infectious."

Not A Side-Effect, A Feature

Obverse Imagineering:

US doctor comes up with solution to drug shortage

JOSEPH HOWTON: Recently, I was reviewing the studies and also Tamiflu, and I found that they talk about being careful when you use Probenecid with also Tamiflu, because it raises the drug level. And I thought about it from the opposite perspective – well this is great, this a wonderful side effect, why don't we consider using Probenecid to, exactly for that reason, we have this tremendous shortage of the drug.

... Tamiflu is a drug that's, it's a weak organic acid, and as such Probenecid, it blocks organic acid from being excreted by the kidneys, so other drugs like penicillin and cephalosporins or other antibiotics all by the same mechanism, the Probenecid blocks the enzymes that allows the excretion of the drug via the kidneys, and therefore you have much less of the intact drug excreted. It stays around and recirculates and you have better virus-killing effect.
